Monica is the newest member of the HFO family even though her stay has not been finalized yet by the social welfare department. Her un-employed, widowed father abandoned her at a shrine due to her failing health and malnourished state that gave her kwashiorkor, a deficiency disease. She was rescued by two good samaritans who were in the Ayeteppo, Dange West region for missionary work where Monica hails from. She is 3 years old and is adjusting well to her new house parents and siblings. She’s now medically fit by all standards and happy. Monica will hopefully start school in the next academic calendar. She is very precious!
