History of the Home

The JoshKrisDan Home is located in Old Ningo, Ghana, West Africa about 50 miles east of the capital city of Accra. The JoshKrisDan Home of Refuge is the HFO flagship program. Land was purchased in 1998, a home design adopted, and construction was completed in 2000. Its name is drawn from the combined names of the Moritz’ three children, Joshua, Kristen, and Daniel. 27 children are presently cared for through the home, including 5 young people who are attending university or post-secondary vocational schools. Houseparents John and Esther Gozo, along with the part time staff of three, oversee the children and the day to day activities.

In the next couple of weeks, HFO will be breaking ground on the new addition to the JoshKrisDan Home by adding a library/infirmary building on the property. The master plan has been approved and the town government has given its approval to begin the project. The Millbrook team will be doing some work projects on the home such as painting the Hearts of the Father Outreach logo on the exterior wall of the compound and constructing a walk with pavers between the buildings. These projects to will be broadcast on our blog.
